The tour starts with a short drive from the port to the drop off point at the Park Hotel. Here your walk along the upper part of the seafront starts. On the way you will see the monument to the Second Russo Turkish War, the oldest Soviet hotel “Primorskaya” - the visiting card of Sochi. Upon arriving at the main square of Sochi, Theatre square, you will see an impressive building of the Winter Theatre. You rejoin the coach to proceed to Stalin’s dacha. Along the main street of the city, Resort Ave, you will see a chain of sanatoria built in Sochi in the1930’sas well as modern buildings. You are heading to the sanatorium Green Grove, the site of the former summer residence of Joseph Stalin. Situated within an old park, the dacha of the “all nations leader” was built in the 1930’s.
The interior has been preserved as it was in Stalin’s time. See the same valuable wood floor and the fireplace. Feel Stalin’s presence on the ground floor where his wax figure is seated at his desk with smoking pipe in hand.
Leaving the dacha you'll next travel along the bypassing road to the tea plantations where an agronomist will give a highly informative talk about the history of Russian tea growing. Time will be allotted to capture some memorable photos from this picturesque location before proceeding to the tea chalet for a treat of some delicious Russian tea. As you relax and enjoy your tea and homemade sweet bread, a troupe of local dancers will entertain you with a lively folkloric performance. Time for some souvenir shopping at the tea Chalet will be provided before returning to the ship.
